Reflection

I decided to devote my sculpture assignment to the problems of war in the 21st century. Using wire and plasticine, I wanted to create an object that would reflect very real situations in our time, and the problems they cause. Military conflicts still occur in many countries, and my country, Ukraine, is no exception. It is not surprising, but after a rather complicated historical relationship in 2014, military aggression was rendered to Ukraine by Russia, which has not stopped until now. With my sculpture, I wanted to depict a certain substance that personifies war, pain and suffering as an unpleasant mass, just as an element of work resembling corals is more responsible for fear, since it is associated with trypophobia, one of the most popular phobias. The eyes from above personify people who are experiencing all the torment and consequences of the current situation, but are unable to change the state of affairs in any way, since everything is done from the top.
For the completed project, I first made a wireframe, then decided to try to combine black and white plasticine, although at work there is no opposition, but these colors usually work well together.
This project is filled with my emotions interpreted in a 3D object. I wanted to express my feelings in it, a view of the situation and also draw attention to the existing problem. I am happy with the resulting appearance of the sculpture, but I would have paid more attention to working out the details.
